IAHR Human Rights Award Acceptance:

It's been the honor of a lifetime to be a part of this journey -- with Delegate Hope & the Interfaith Alliance for Human Rights (IAHR).

We know the work of our advocacy is only beginning, and /we're looking forward to continuing our shared efforts to bend that great arc of the moral universe in the direction of justice – together!!

Through your powerful advocacy; We stand with you and with your commitment to Empower those people who have been denied a place at the policy making table.

And, together we will continue the fight, through our legislative advocacy, with the goal of ending the torture of prolonged solitary confinement /and ending the private prison practice of putting the shareholder’s profit above the rehabilitation needs of persons in Virginia’s prison.

  • In short, we know that your past should not define your future!
  • In short; It’s about rehabilitation; Not torture!!
  • I’m, incredibly, proud of the work we are doing.

In closing: -- “Please remember! what we know from experience, is that a few votes in the Senate or House can do far more to help or hurt those causes than anything individuals can do!

And, Now Here it is!! What a beautiful Trophy Award – It is Received with gratitude & appreciation!

And, It reads “Human Rights Hero — Presented in appreciation for your efforts to end solitary confinement in Virginia and for your support of the poor.’

Let’s keep-up the great work we are doing--together! and

Let’s keep creating a greater Virginia—together!

Grace and peace! john
