You did it!!! Virginia legislators heard your voice on behalf of the most vulnerable among us!!

Please take a minute to read the report below by Social Action Linking Together (SALT) regarding what your advocacy accomplished in the 2019 General Assembly.

Bills Passed:

1) Budget Amendment Item 340 1s patroned by Senator Siobhan Dunnavant increases TANF benefits by five percent;

2) SB 1145 patroned by Senator Barbara Favola improves support services for former TANF families by making child care services available—after leaving TANF--for another 12 months, for those who are attending school;

3) HB 1642 Solitary Confinement Data Collection and Reporting of specific information by DOC regarding use of Solitary Confinement--patroned by Delegate Patrick Hope, Senator Barbara Favola and Senator Dave Marsden;

4) HB 2005 patroned by Delegate Lashrecse Aird expands TANF eligibility to include persons who are between ages 18 and 19 years of age and full-time student.
